Blended Delivery (Online theory + Face-to-Face practical)
Entry Requirements:
Minimum age 14 years (or 18+ preferred), basic literacy and numeracy, and the physical ability to perform CPR on a manikin for at least 2 minutes
Work Placement:
Not applicable — all assessments conducted in class or simulated environments
Course Overview
The Provide First Aid course equips learners with comprehensive first aid knowledge and hands-on techniques to manage a range of medical emergencies.
You’ll gain the confidence to assess, respond, and provide immediate care for injuries and illnesses — from minor wounds to life-threatening conditions — until professional help arrives.
This course aligns with the latest Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and satisfies first aid requirements for most workplaces and organisations.

This unit of competency includes and supersedes previous first aid units:
- Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- Provide First Aid

Work Placement Requirements
- No external placement required — practical training and assessment occur in-class
- Students must demonstrate CPR on a manikin placed on the floor
- Annual CPR refresher recommended
- Full First Aid certificate renewal every 3 years advised

If you’ve already worked in the community or disability sector, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
