Course Overview
The Certificate IV in Disability Support is designed for individuals who are passionate about empowering people with disabilities to achieve greater independence and participation in their communities.
You’ll learn how to deliver high-quality, individualised support while developing leadership and coordination skills to guide others in a care environment.

Core Units
- Follow established person-centered behaviour supports
- Facilitate community participation and social inclusion
- Facilitate ongoing skills development using a person-centered approach
- Provide person-centered services to people with disability with complex needs
- Manage legal and ethical compliance
- Maintain work health and safety

This qualification also provides a pathway into further study, such as the Diploma of Community Services or other specialised care qualifications.
Work Placement Requirements
- A minimum of 120 hours of practical placement in a registered disability or community care setting
- Students must obtain a National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and proof of vaccination (as required by state/territory)
- Assistance with placement is available through our partner network
Recognition of Prior Learning & Credit Transfer
If you’ve already worked in the community or disability sector, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Your experience and previous studies can count towards units in this qualification — saving you time and cost.
